This was the second day in Shenzhen. We went to Splendid China and China Fork Cultural Village. Ticket for both parks was RMB120 per person.

Splendid China is same like window of the world, they show miniature buildings. It's just that Splendid China only show the buildings in China. Both are worth for visit. We reached there at 10am and leaved at 6pm. Actually the recommended time is 2 hours for each park. We took too long for it.

Note: There are several shows in Fork Cultural Village, make sure u plan the time and the place properly. The big show in theater about China cloths is very nice, RMB30 per person. Worth to watch.

We went to Dongmen after clean up ourselves in hotel. Gosh, my skin became dark over the uncover area. Really bright sun! Advice: Must apply sunblock.

After asking the manager if the hotel, we realized how stupid we were to take taxi back hotel from Dongmen last night. Actually it took 5 -minute walk to reach Dongmen from My Little Hut.

Not to miss out to shopping in Dongmen. Although if u compare, Guangzhou is offer cheaper price, but overall things in Shenzhen are considered cheap. Remember to bargain! I bought dresses and shoes there. Try to use up my remaining RMB. ^^

My first lunch in Shenzhen. Barbecue pork with rice.

We stayed at My Little Hut in Dongmen district. RMB130 per double bed room. The hotel is very well located and cheap. But the bed sheet is not that clean and the room looks old.

Night view of Paris

There was a big show at 7 pm. It was a performance of dance about the love of different country. I was so amazed with the background of the stage and the huge number of dancers. Worth watching.

We went to Dongmen with the hope that we can shop there. But most of the shops were closed by the time we reach, 11pm. So, we found a stall and order some food for dinner. This was what i ordered, 'liang mian' means cold noodle. Never heard it before, i like to try...but yuks! It was so salty! .. I was not able to eat any further... and have to order drink to clear my taste buds... The other 3 person's food was fine..

G claimed that he was still hungry after eating the noodle. So, we entered this Kungfu Restaurant. It looks like fast food restaurant. But no fried chicken, no french fried, no coke... This restaurant only available in China and it sells chinese cuisine such as rice, pork meat, vegetable... A fast but healthy food. Each set around RMB 14.

We have a short walk in Dongmen and back to hotel at 12.30pm by taxi.

GUANGZHOU (Day 2) 29.6.09

We woke up early the next morning and start heading to Barrier Gate after we checked out at 9.00am.

Barrier Gate

We took bus after passing through the barrier gate. The bus station is situated at the LG level. So, take the escalator down to reach the bus station. The buses leading to Guangzhou are quite frequent. The rate was RMB70 per person. It took us about 1 hour to reach Guangzhou. We dropped off by China Hotel and took subway to our hotel in Fangcun.

Youth Hotel. RMB 168 per double bed room. The places around was relaxing and was surrounded by restaurants, pubs and disco.

Our lunch in one of the restaurant nearby. The bowl of noodle with fish only costs RMB3. Very cheap!

Six-Bantan Temple. Located on Liurong road. The Sarira Pagoda is the tallest of its kind in Guangzhou. (RMB5 per entry)

Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Located on Middle Dongfeng Road. To enter the hall, need to pay RMB10. It was raining on and off while we were visiting this place.

We went to Yuexiu Park which is the biggest park in Guangzhou. (RMB5 per entry). The Five-Ram stone sculpture which is the emblem of Guangzhou, is erected in the park. We actually having a hard time to find the sculpture, climbed 2 hills to reach it. The signboard did not really show the way.

Zhenhai Tower. It is located on the top of Yuexiu Hill. The tower closed at 5pm. We were not allowed to enter as we reach there at 5 due to the Five-Ram stone sculpture.

Next, we came to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Shopping Street. Located on Xiguan, Liwan District.

Guangzhou Restaurant. Guangzhou is the best place for food. This restaurant offers delicious Guangzhou cuisine. With the dishes shown, we paid around RMB160.

Shangxiajiu is favorite shopping street for youngster. I bought 2 dresses there. Each only cost RMB19. However we have no time to shop around as we plan to go to Pearl River.
.

Pearl River Cruise. RMB50 for the top level. The cruise has 3 level, the lower the cheaper. Pearl River offers nice views along it with the light of the buildings. It was so romantic ~~

We took taxi back to Youth Hotel. It was 12am. After bathe, we went down to the street outside the hotel. It was much more merrier at night compared to day with the disco, karaoke and pubs. We took supper sitting besides the street, short tables and chairs. We ordered the local Pearl River beer and a plate of 'lala'. It was not that tasty, but u can experience and feel the atmosphere of local people there.

Slept at 2 pm....
